Mr. Fuente has worked as guest artist in companies throughout Europe and the United States.
REPERTORY:
As a principal dancer with the Joffrey Ballet he danced an extensive repertory and had great success with ballets created especially for him
by Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey such as VIVA VIVALDI, OLYMPICS, FANFARITA and POSTCARDS.He later went on to dance the leading roles in the classical repertory including SWAN LAKE, GISELLE, SLEEPING BEAUTY,
CINDERELLA, AND COPPELIA, as well as ballets by George Ballanchine, Frederick Ashton, Antony Tudor, John Cranko, etc.During this time Mr. Fuente worked with and was coached by some of the greatest names in the dance world, such as: Robert Joffrey,
Gerald Arpino, George Ballanchine, Frederick Franklin, Ben Stevenson, Andre Eglevsky, Igor Youskevitch, Margot Fonteyn, Edward Villela,
Melissa Hayden, Rudi Van Dantzig, Hans Van Manen, and Antony Tudor among others.DIRECTOR/CHOREOGRAPHER:
- Directed and choreographed his own company “Ballet de Luis Fuente” in Madrid , Spain .
- Co-directed and was resident choreographer for the National Ballet of Spain.
- Choreographed extensively for “TVE”, Spanish Television.
- He has created works for numerous companies in Europe and the U.S. , including “MUJERES' AND “CONTRATIEMPO”, among others.
- Directed the Luis Fuente Ballet of New Mexico .
AS TEACHER / BALLET MASTER
- Mr. Fuente directed and taught at his own school in Madrid .
- Was ballet Master at the National Ballet of Spain.
- He organized, directed and taught at the yearly seminars for the Universities of Menendez y Pelayo and the Conservatories of Valencia and Alicante in Spain .
- Has taught extensively throughout Europe and the U.S. as a freelance and guest teacher.
- Ballet Master with the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago.
- Dance faculty at the Boston Conservatory.
